Following the decommissioning of the Sovereign Lighthouse off of the coast of Eastbourne, we were contracted by Herbosch-Kiere to undertake the first phase of the demolition works.
The “Pepperpot” and the top deck were disconnected from the structure out at sea and brought inland by barge. Once it arrived at Shoreham Port, working with the tide, we demolished the top deck from the quayside using several of our excavators. We were able to process the arising waste as we went, the majority of which went for recycling.
We are due to commence the second phase in October 2024
