We were contracted by Balfour Beatty to carry out the safe demolition, slab removal and crushing of all suitable materials to lay as a piling mat of the Southgate Building.
This building was located directly beneath the main flight path.
The building was a selection of warehouses and workshops suppling the airports busy maintenance division. Construction was a steel frame clad in various materials one elevation had asbestos within it .
We planned the asbestos removal soft strip demolition and crushing around the airports busy runway. At one point we had to carry out a controlled collapse of the final section of the building early in the morning to avoid aircraft services.
All works were carried out within the strictest of constraints possible and within time and budget to the clients approval and satisfaction.
